Joanne Lalonde Hayes, Founder and President, More Time Moms

Joanne, the mother of three children has been an expert in time management for more than 20 years and holds an M.B.A. from McGill University. Working as a Strategic planner for large corporations, it wasn't until she married and had three children, born a year apart, that her organizational skills met the ultimate challenge. When her third child was born, Joanne left the comforts of the board room to care for her growing family... "Why is there always chaos all around me, especially at dinner?" "What can I feed my children that will be healthy, delicious, inexpensive and quick to make?". These challenges and my growing understanding that too few people valued, respected the job of a mom, became the seeds for More Time Moms.

Inspired to develop the ultimate family menu planning system, Joanne gathered friends and family to found More Time Moms and to launch the first edition of what came to be the best selling More Time Cooks series. More Time Cooks is an innovative meal planning system that ensures a great variety of healthful and tasty meals kids love, while simplifying the tasks of planning, shopping and cooking.

As the company and the children grew, time management became a concern in Joanne's home again. "When Jordan was 7, she came to me in tears because I had missed a school event. I felt so badly and told her to pick a date on the calendar when we could reschedule. She came back crying more loudly this time because "there is no room on the calendar to write our date"... "I looked everywhere and although I found plenty of plannng tools for the office, there was absolutely nothing for moms, no such thing as a family calendar, a mom calendar, a home organizer - again no respect for the job"... And so was born the Family Organizer™. Now in its fifteenth year of publication, with more than 1/4 million copies sold annually, it has become a very important part of our customers home life.

Responding to the chaos of family life has been the true inspiration for the More Time Moms' titles. Feedback from our customers and tester-moms has enabled us to continuously refine and build superior products. More Time Moms continues to develop tools to make Moms' lives easier and is a rapidly growing business, with a belief in the strength of community effort. More Time Moms supports charitable projects for children in need in the developing world.
